Off Topic / How is everyone?
« on: July 31, 2017, 08:10:23 PM »
Hi! The forums have been essentially closed for years, but it seems that a couple of people are still checking them every so often. What's everyone been up to?

I've been fine. I ended up playing the Steam version of Tasty Planet 2 and, well, I'm starting to wish ThirdParty was still around. Despite the much larger number of people who played the Steam version, I've been able to replicate his feat of taking every high score, but on the Steam leaderboards, and I know he has a lot of scores on the old version far better than what I have here. (My Cherry Blossoms score is actually quite a bit better than his now, though, over half a second faster.)

(This doesn't mean you have to talk about Tasty Planet, talk about whatever you'd like.)

The Three Musketeers: The Game / Re: Possible sequel... ?
« on: July 31, 2017, 08:02:07 PM »
Well, I guess that that increases the chance of it being a sequel to this game, like the OP was asking, but no way to really know.

The only connection whatsoever to a sequel is a 7 year old Youtube comment they made.

Dingo Games 7 years ago
If this game does well then it's certainly a possibility. The other books in the d'Artagnan romances would be more difficult to turn into a game. In particular, the middle section of Ten Years Later (usually called "Louise de la Valliere") would not make a very exciting game. :)?

(From this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjykzA28vUc)

I mean, that would be pretty funny if they ended up releasing 10 years later, 10 years later, but . . .

Hi, unfortunately, these forums are essentially down, the developers don't check them, and you can't register anymore. A couple of years ago they got hit by spambots HARD, in just one month, they had over 90 thousand spam posts, maintaining the forums was impossible. If you want to talk to the developers, they still respond fairly well to their e-mail at support@dingogames.com. If you'd like to know what's happened recently, Tasty Planet 2 and Tasty Blue were put on Steam with Greenlight, and they have done quite well, so they are currently working on a couple of new games. For all I know, one of them could be related to this.

Tasty Planet: Back for Seconds / Re: I ate the high scores
« on: April 24, 2017, 03:49:38 AM »
Greetings, friends. I don't know if anyone can see this, but, I have been playing the Steam version of Tasty Planet 2: Back for Seconds for quite a while now. I have something to show for it. 29.22 seconds, or, using Steam's leaderboards because that shows milliseconds, 29.216. I don't know if you'll ever see this ThirdParty, but, until you do . . . you have not eaten the high scores.

So, does anyone have any specific opinions on the game? I have it and I like it so far. It does have a decent amount of waiting for enemies syndrome(the fish ladder one . . .), but I'm not too far in yet.

I'm at the barracuda level and am now forcing myself not to bite its tail (it reminds me of Feeding Frenzy) because I have a feeling that the eating you with its tail part of Tasty Planet still exists.

That would be nice, and give lots of neat objects to eat, but I don't think I would want the whole game to be based on it. Also, is it possible that some of those may have copyrights?

Although, nothing in this entire game can compare to endurance space from the first. I almost broke many furniture items.

I think we have overanalyzed this.

Tasty Planet: Back for Seconds / Re: Misc. Tasty Planet 3 ideas
« on: July 04, 2013, 12:09:25 PM »
James(the maker of Tasty Planet) has stated previously that a level editor would be way too time-consuming and expensive. Also, their music is open source, so it would be hard to get unique music for bosses.

Ok, I was just thinking that it had been a while since your last game and 99% of the people who will buy it already have. Not rushing you, was just concerned.

Oh, I do too. They are my favourite levels. The other levels work as practice for the parts of the large one. Of course, I wouldn't care if you got rid of the small part levels, as long as there are fun levels in their place. I don't care how long it takes, but I know a shorter development time means you can gain revenue sooner, and people need money to live. Although, I'm hoping that is why Clumsy Cat was released, since it is smaller than your other games. Of course, it is free, and I don't know how many people are going to buy the other characters. Which are apparently cheap anyways. Where is Dingo Games getting their money from anyways?

At that point you would be playing Katamari. (Or, since objects in TP don't stick to the goo, more like this Starcraft 2 custom map called Hungry Hungry Baneling I found a long time ago. Or a game called the Munchables. TP is still the most addicting though.)
